Question for CS owners that changed from an analog UB3 to digital UB3

Did your gas mileage drop?

 

I've been noticing that mine, since the change over in my 1992 CS 'vert using a 1989 I-Series cluster, has dropped like poop from a pigeon's anus. The DIS shows 100 miles to go at 1/2 tank on the digi UB3 compared to just below 1/4 on the analog UB3. I am wondering if something happened since to make it go down, or if the digi UB3 is more accurate or less accurate than the analog UB3.

For what its worth, going from base digital to analog UB3, I felt my mileage went up...The digital gas meter never seemed accurate to me at all

it takes near 100 miles before the first bar goes on the UB3. i think last time i thought about it it was around 80. still, i think the "top" of the tank on the ub3 is lower, if that makes sense, so that half a tank is less than on a mechanical guage.

i had a problem like that on my gutlass. when i felled the tank, it seemed to take forever for the notch to move from full, but once it did, it seemed like i would only go about 50-75mi before it dropped to half or a 1/4 tank.

seems to me that the first tick gone= 3/4 tank remains

4 ticks gone=1/2 tank remains

8 ticks gone (half tank reading) = 1/4 tank.
