Crazy K Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 Don't know about the subframe, but you've gotta take off the wheel, inner fender, and I think loosen and/or remove the CV axle you could do either method IIRC. about the tensioner and belt from page 1 there are two different types of tensioners I have seen on the 3.1s, the early type don't seem to wear out. I've decided to drive my 92 lumina engine till the belt breaks. 225,000 miles so far on the belt..... but I had to replace the tensioner at 223,000 miles OH WELL. there is a spare belt in the trunk. but I should point out that there are tension marks on the tensioner, that should reveal when it is worn out. HOWEVER, the tensioners I have replaced developed side to side wear and not tension loss in the spring. to be specific, ALL but one of the tensioners I have replaced were the newer type, and most were on 3100's and not 3.1s.
