flywheel?

I'm looking to do a 5 speed swap in my 90 GP with a 3.1, my donar car is an 89 GP with a 2.8. I know the 2.8 flywheel is diffrent and i need a 3.1 flywheel but what about the 3X00 motors, will the flywheel from a 3.1 bolt to a 3X00 crank?

I ask this cause I'm looking at doing the 5 speed swap in the next few weeks and come winter I want to drop in a 3X00 and i just want to know if i can stick with my 3.1 flywheel or am i going to have to hunt down another one, cause if they are diffrent I will just wait and do the motor and tranny at the same time.

thanks

The Flywheels are the same for all 2.8/3.1L V6 engines.

I think the problem that people seem to have is they don't realize that the bolt pattern is not layed out to be evenly spaced.

The pattern is offset on certain bolt holes so that when the flywheels and flexplates were part of the balacing of the engine, they would get installed in the proper weighted orientation.

FYI: I am selling a fidenza 9lb Flywheel that you could use to a great advantage in your swap. Only $275+Shipping.

that's what it was! I couldn't remember. they bolt up to the crank fine, but the 3.1's is like an inch bigger in diameter than the 2.8.

wouldn't that make it imposable for the starter to engage against the ring gear if that was true?
