joey b Posted November 7, 2007 Report Posted November 7, 2007 I pulled a tranny without the need of a lift or hoist Quote
ismellrealbad Posted November 7, 2007 Report Posted November 7, 2007 yeah you can do it. its not hard but its not fun either. u need at least 2 jacks and at least 4 jack stands, probably more. the hardest part is lifting the trans back up and in and getting the input shaft in. yanno i just saw this weekend in a napa catalog they make fucking floor trans jacks and clutch assembly jacks??? god they have a tool for everything Quote

Support the car on the stands. Lower the rear of the subframe onto a brick. Lower the front and lift off of the jack. If necessary, jack up subframe and remove brick. You really don't need the brick though. Quote
ismellrealbad Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 i liked to support pretty much every corner. thats a lot of weight to have slip and fall off 2 things and also lift back up Quote
