Guest alpahgtp
I'm about to change my plugs, but I want the best ones, I'm also going to get some 8 0r 8.5mm wires, and I want some opinions, my plans for my gp are pretty straight forward, I want to make it faster !! I don't have any mods on my engine, but I hope that eventually I will, I don't care much for the price I just want top performance !! Supreme Cutlass
Just stick with stock, and save your money for a major upgrade
digitaloutsider
Stock AC Delco's, stock AC Delco wires.
Andrew
Stock AC Delco's, stock AC Delco wires. is there an echo is here?? LOL yeah he is right though. you arent going to get any performance out of bigger wires, so stick with some good ole AC Delco's.
wildbill
x3 AcDelco make the best wires. I have used expensive trim to fit Taylor wires, and no noticeable difference. >IMO a pain in the ass. Every mechanic I have ever asked about this has said you can't go wrong with AcDelco. 19Cutlass94
stock motherfucking ACDelco! how many times must we say this! and FYI: theres gonna be no difference in spark at the plug between a 7mm or 8mm or 8.5mm only thing thats different is the cost. Mach 5
Im running Denso Laser Iridium plugs/ Taylor 8.2mm wires. I like it. My gas mileage went up and so did the throttle response. Jarek

Jarek If your mileage and throttle response went up with those wires it would've gone up with AC Delco wires too. A plug wire is a plug wire. I had stock plug wires on my '99 GP until one of them finally broke while taking it off. I think if my car went 12.4 @ 112 on them in shitty conditions having issues with it that they can't be too bad........especially since the wires had 220k+ miles on them. per0781
wires/plugs wont make the car faster. stick with stock stuff. and why buy such big wires for these engines? such overkill. nice examples above me that show marketing works, suckers. Upgrading plugs and wire is more of a support mod... When I had my 84 T/A I ended up having to upgrade to rapidfire plugs and 8.8mm Accel wires since I was burning up every 8mm wire I could find along with the R45TS plugs... (I had almost $400 into the HEI distributor if that tells you anything)
per0781
i can understand if they're brittle, burnt insulation, high mileage, etc.
BXX
i can understand if they're brittle, burnt insulation, high mileage, etc. I had too much kV running though the 8mm and standard plugs, it would burn them up... Too much power (yes, it can happen, especially with the high amerage module I was using)

Brian P
I'm happy with my MSD's 8.5mm but I only got them because they were cheap, and I'm a ricer. I used aftermarket AC Delco wires for many, many miles, transferred from my 3100 to my 3400 engines, went thru maybe 4 R&R's and they never broke, or deteriorated. I removed them just recently for the MSD's and saved them for a backup. That's the first wire set I ever had with bulletproof crimps Best part is they were no more expensive at $30.
