Olds W31
Got bored at the JY week before last and was looking in/around at ALL the W-body cars. Mine did not have a rear Swaybar (FE1) and I had just removed the 12-14mm stocker off of a thrashed GP when I was suddenly struck by the HUGE size of the rear bar off a Monte Carlo. This thing is 5/8" (not as big as ADDCO), solid, and, for $12.50.... Long story short, its on and it WORKS. On the same trip I scored a 34mm front, but that will be swapped later. Sidenote, one of my first cars, a Caprice, and one of my first mods, rear Sway Bar off a '73 Monte....see, Monte Carlos are good for something!!! Olds W31
Rides A LOT better. Especially after swapping the 34mm bar....I need to figure out which rear spring I have and find one about 2-3 steps firmer. I guess I should say it is a lot more confidence inspiring, now..... pwmin
what car is this on? supposedly, the wouldnt work on Gen 1's, but i know of someone who did, maybe you, too. i thought they WERE 7/8, but maybe not. def cheaper than an addco, esp considering i never use any of the hardware they supply. Olds W31
Mine is a 94 FE1 4dr car. This is grandma's all the way. Or, maybe, was grandma's Was single exhaust, no rear bar, body rolling pig.... Now, Factory dual exhaust, 34mm front, Big rear bar (fit fine, pushes the bushings out just a little, and it did need some persuading with the big prybar). I think it needs stiffer front springs and about 1-1.5" less ride height in the front. Next stop, 12" brakes......
