brian89gp
Stock the 3.4 is supposed to use 5w30 but in a past post here I heard mention that the TGP uses a different viscosity then the regular 3.1. Which viscosity do you think I should run on my turbo 3.4? Mobil 1 of course.
manualturbo
on the tgp i run 10w40 in the summer when hot and take it back down to 10w30 in the winter when it gets below 40 degrees. every oil change ive substituted in a quart of the lucas oil stabilizer and it seems to do really well-- at idle the pressure is about 30-35 psi and cruising it looks to be about 45 psi when the engine is already warmed up. its a little pricey but i think it helps out a lot. my 2 cents mitch
Slade901
Most new engines and rebuilt engines uses the 5w30 oil. It is an all season type oil but as the engine ages and wears then you have to use 10w30 and other thicker oils. If you are hauling heavy stuff or using a trailer then thicker oil is recommended. 5w30 and 10w30 have pretty much the same protection range from cold or hot temperature but other thicker oils are not good when the temperature is very cold.
