xtremerevolution Posted October 28, 2007 Report Posted October 28, 2007 Do they make one that will fit on a 95 L27? (3800 Series 1)? I heard you can get one for a Series 2 and that it would boost you about 10 engine HP. Does anyone know where I can find such a thing and whether or not they actually work well in adding power? I'm trying to see how much power I can get out of this L27 without needing to grind and install a custom cam. 1.8 high ratio rockers with a higher lift cam won't mix very well, so I would need to grind a custom cam with only a higher duration. With currently 161,800 miles, I don't think a cam is worth it, but for another 1 year of fun with this car an electric water pump might help something. Thanks Quote
joey b Posted October 30, 2007 Report Posted October 30, 2007 your water pump doesn't put 10HP of drag on your engine. I'd say 4 HP tops, but that is crank HP. Quote

Even if it was 5 crank HP, it might be worth it if the price wasn't too bad. Quote
Andrew Posted October 30, 2007 Report Posted October 30, 2007 AFAIK there isnt one for your car. As for the vailidity of electric pumps, not only does it free up some ponies, but it provides superior flow and it has the ability to run while the car is off. very good stuff. it will free up approx 7 engine HP at 6k rpm. Dyno gains compared to stock begin around 4k rpm and will increase as your RPM goes up. This means that gains will be increased on cars with raised rev limiters and shift points over the 7HP advertised. Quote

Andrew Posted October 31, 2007 Report Posted October 31, 2007 nope. the cubic inches maybe similiar, but the blocks are quite different. Quote
