Psych0matt
Slowly been getting more and more annoying, but the passenger side front seems to either be way out of alignment, or something else causing it to really fast "thump thump thump" once I hit about 60mph or higher. I didn't notice it too much with the 19"s on (maybe it wasnt that bad yet) but that is the wheel that the tire blew out, so I don't know which was the cause and which was the effect. is there any suggestions on something to look for, or is it something I just might have to have a shop do (like an alignment)? Crazy K
wheel bearing time dude!
93CutlassSupreme
Bad alignments don't cause a thumping sound. I'd balance your tires first before I spend $200 on a wheel bearing.
Psych0matt
WTF? where do you get 200$ from? maybe if I took it to a shop, but seriously, it's not that hard, to have someone else do it. 80$ tops for a new one, probably 25$ for a yard one. That whee; bearing has been slowly going bad for the last year, I think it's time. maybe sunday
Crazy K
it if doubt about the wheel, rotate your tires and see if the thump moves!
Psych0matt
it if doubt about the wheel, rotate your tires and see if the thump moves! a) that first half was drunkenly incoherent, and the other wheels had the same thump up front like that on the same side
cutty
i would guess it was a bad tire with a broken belt. i had the same thing happen with two of my front tires one time.

joey b
the other wheels had the same thump up front like that on the same side
Psych0matt
Thanks Joey, they don't wanna believe me! I'm gonna swap two of the wheels tomorrow and see what happens, but I'll be surprised if the thumping moves/is gone
Psych0matt
ROTATE YOUR TIRES I DID, SAME PROBLEM! so yeah, swapped the wheels around (front pass. wheel with rear drivers wheel) and exact same problem, no difference at all
19Cutlass94
Well you know its not your tires... Check the suspension. It could be a bad ball joint.
Psych0matt
If I have time I might stop in meineke tomorrow and have Jim check it out. I don't have the funds to have them do it, but if I make it sound like I'll bring it back to them he'll probably check it out. Heck, knowing the manager from being in there enough up until last fall, he'd do it anyways knowing i've spent probably 6 or 7 hundred dollars before
Chancho
when you swapped the wheels around while you had your front end jacked up did you try to spin the wheels and see if the wheel bearing was bad?
