GPdriver1986 Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 I put in new brakes on my car (rotors and pads). One day on my first test drive the rear brake overheated so I applied the e-brake a few times and let it cool then it was ok. Today I was driving and my other rear wheel started overheating. I know this probably warped my rotors because I took it in to the mechanic and he said that the rotors are warped and he said to take the rear sliders out and clean them. Now I'm thinking that if this wheel has overheated then maybe it won't overheat anymore, because the other rear wheel does not overheat anymore. Should I apply the parking brake a few times? New calipers are expensive and I don't spend anymore money. What should I do? Quote
Redfox340 Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 As a prelimary check, pull both rear wheels off and check the difference in friction. Sounds like a semi-locked or freezing caliper but it's too early to tell at the moment. Perhaps just the tolerances of the new pads are a little thick... - Erik Quote
Robby1870 Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 :withstupid: But, Im willing to bet your rear calipers are getting ready to take a crap on you Robby Quote
Baddflash Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 Definately clean your sliders up to make sure they're not the cause. Make sure they're not draggin, if so like Robby said they might be on the way out. Quote
