disc for cleaning cd players?

Is there any disc for cd players that you guys could recommend that would clean it somewhat decent? The problem is is that I play a cd on any cd player.. it doesnt skip... I put it in my Pioneer, and some parts skip like crazy, and the disc is clean. Im thinking its maybe the lens in the cd player? I know they make the discs that do this, but would it be worth it to give it a shot and see if its makes it better?

You can try. Most stores carry the disc (walmart, meijer, radioshack, best buy, etc...). IIRC, it's between like $10-$15.

if it works let me know. Mine has progressively gotten worse. Closing my door makes it skip now

I have one and it works pretty decent...only issue is the felt liner or w/e at the front of the deck tears the cleaning brushes out of the disc.

Maybe Ill try the compressed air in a can first.. instead of buying a cleaning disc and have the cleaning part of it fall off

I used the cleaning disc on the GP, bought it at Office Max for $9 bucks.

The brushes where black afterwards, lol.

My pioneer is a POS to, its a 5800, came with the tgp. Skips on anything thats not like a brand new cd. The only reason i dont have my eclipse 5425 in there is cuz i cant play my ipod through it. Im thinking of selling both and getting a new eclipse unit that is ipod compatible.

Thats the only complaint I have about the Pioneers is that if the CD isnt perfect, they reflect that.

I bought a cleaning disc with the brushes on it, and it seemed to make a pretty big difference. I looked at the brushes after and they didnt seem black or dirty at all though...
