Addicted to eaton
As most of you know. I had a TEAL 1995 GP 3100 SFI over heat and now there is water in the oil. I need my car back on the road A.S.A.P. I also have a Black 1995 Grand Prix that runs and drive fine with a 3100 SFI. My Teal grand prix blew a head at 140,062 miles. My Black car has 148,XXX on it. Should I Go ahead and Pull both motors and Switch them. The Teal car Could just simply be a head gasket. I have been around cars a lot in my life and have seen two 4 cylinders be tore down to the head and put a new gaket in them and be as good as new BUT. Not a v6. My dad has been there to do this kinda stuff for me but I'm done with that crap. I broke it. I want to fix it. My plans are to pull both motors and put the motor from the black car in the teal car and be good as new lol. But the black grand prix is a nice car. Only reason I am not driving it is because it has been hit and needs some body work to the front drivers side finder and the b4u body kit Peace. So Main Questions. Should I Switch the motors and Rebuild the motor with a blown Head Later Is it that hard to switch a motor? What will I need.
Andrew
i would just drive the one that has damage(as long as its legal), and fix or replace the other engine. swapping motors is just alot of unnecessary extra work IMO.
19Cutlass94
So your going to pull the two engines, because you dont know how much water got in the oil, instead of just changing the oil, let the car warm up, and change it again? Unless the engine is knocking or doing something to promote an engine swap ( which you didnt say ) its a waste. Im sorry but changing an engine because your headgasket went or your LIM gasket went is the dumbest fucking thing Ive heard.... hey dont change the gaskets... change the motor!! Park the car with the engine problem, and drive the one with the small body damage. You can change the head and LIM gaskets and change the oil twice, and that car should be okay to drive again. Just make sure you don't mess up the order of the pushrods.
