MonteCarloDude
got my PCM from MMS today, installed it a few hours ago, and so far so good i love how it downshifts now (not like it has much top end anyways) i have to say, it was worth every last penny. i will try to get a 0-60 vid as soon as it stops raining and its somewhat warm here. 19Cutlass94
or you could just drop in a 3400 instead of just a top end swap...

BIGBULS
I'm a little late, but where does that thing shift now at WOT? With a stock/near stock W-Body L82, you should be wanting a 5900-6000rpm 1-2 shift, a 5700-5800rpm 2-3 and a 5500-5600rpm 3-4 (although I rather doubt it would actually GET there due to aerodynamic drag rearing it's ugly head). Anything more (or less), and you are leaving some performance on the table. The more airflow mods you get though, the higher the ideal shiftpoints get however...........because usually, mods make more of a difference at high rpm than low.......... Oh, and what are the kickdown threshholds (mph-wise)??? Just curious........

Just curious........ the 1-2 shift is about 6000RPMs have not tryed the 2-3 at WOT yet, as far as the kickdown goes, i tryed before i got the PCM at 30mph and it would not go in to 1st, but the PCM was able to fix that, i have not tryed it at 35mph roll yet. il update as soon as i do. BIGBULS
Think of it as an excuse for some "testing". I would also slot the gear selector down into the lower gears and see if he touched the other shift tables as well..............

GPX
Now my question...is the "standard" PCM completely standard, as in stock? I didn't think the MMS website was clear on that. Does it have the upgraded shift points? And why not go to the Stage 1? I guess we'd all like to be able to dump a bunch of money into the motor at once and do the cam/intake/exhaust thing, but that's not in my budget. But if I can upgrade my PCM and do the other things when I can afford them, that would be really cool. I guess my real question is--is there a performance penalty for having a Stage 1 or Stage 2 PCM and not having the other goodies to go with?
