Addicted2bass
Sometimes (but not all the time) when i start my car the engine makes a knocking/ticking noise. If i rev it up it will go away, or it will go away after a minute or so of driving. My 96 GP had a lifter knock, it doesnt really sound like that, plus ive never heard of the 3.1s getting those like the 3100s did.
slick
You sure it isn't just the injectors ticking away?
Garrett Powered
take it to a mechanic and have them do the rod bearings. let me know if it stops. Thats what I want to do, its been doing that for 50 k now.
Addicted To Boost
Sounds like a lifter to me
Psych0matt
Sounds like a lifter to me x2. my cutlass is ticking all the time now, cuz it's time for an oil change (and a little low from leaking). a lot of times it'll start ticking on initial start up, but after the RPMs settle to normal it stops
Addicted2bass
It sounds louder then the lifter knock my 96 gp had. And that would take 5-10 min to go away. This knock goes away quicker and will happen randomly, it doesnt seem to matter how long or short of a time the car has been sitting. Im not to worried about it, just curious.
