pwmin
ok, so i have old-school green infinity reference 4x6 plates in my dash, 5 1/4" reference components in the doors, and kappa 3-way 6x9's in the rear deck. i have to turn the gain on the amp for the 6x9's as to not drown out the smaller speakers, so im going to need to amp the fronts (which i need to do anway as theyre running off the deck). the 5 1/4's are rated at 75W RMS have a 2-ohm voice coil. im not looking for the best stuff, just something decent. i'd like to have it under the driver or passenger seat if possible. Garrett Powered
maybe you can lose the plate speakers, put the tweets off the components in the dash where they belong, run the deck power for the front/ rear channel in parallel so it changes from 4 to 2 ohm (is that possible?) and get more power that way if you can for the components (5" woofer, tweeter, and a crossover running them thats 2 ohm, correct?) thats odd that they are 2 ohm. I have run components off deck power but never but never had to try to get 2 ohms to them so I dont know. or you can amp the front components and use deck power for the plates and 6x9s. thats what I would do. have the amp in the trunk and everything. a 4 ch amp for sub and components. xtremerevolution
i'd like to have it under the driver or passenger seat if possible. Good luck with that. I wanted to do it earlier, but even with the stock seats I didn't have enough room.

Honestly, just go to wal mart and buy like a $50 jenson amp if that's all you need it for, they are fine for regular speakers.
pwmin
ill have to find my spec sheets, but according to their website, the new references are 2ohm. ive had good luck with cheapo lighting audio amps. thats what i have running the 6x9's (had it from my last car). ill prob just end up making a mounting plate behind the rear seat for both amps. the amp i have right now is under the rear seat. i know its not good, but i ran it for a long time in my 96 w/ no problems of overheating and no one ever sits there. i should just move them to the trunk. meltboy1
you know, them el cheapo amps aren't all that bad... back in the day when i first got into car audio, I used Jenson, Pyramid, Legacy, and honestly, they worked great for me. I had a little 300 watt pyramid amp powering a single sony xplode 12, and that thing was stupid loud for what it was... honestly it didn't make sense that it was as loud as it was..lol
boulevard
http://www.w-body.com/forum/index.php/topic,63174.0.html Go here and read the specs for the 4-channel Kenwood Amps that I have. They will run your componets and your subs, all in one amp.

GtipGary
I knew someone who had the Phoenix Gold Xenon series amp powering his 6x9s and components and it sounded great. Then again ive had people tell me that PG isnt too great, but IMO his stereo sounded really good.

I would imagine this might perform better than my Alpine R12... ...Unless someone else wants to sell me a better 12" subwoofer for about $100. This is mostly high-end equipment though. Depends on what you're building I recon.
