rudefyet
I was wondering...which would be better a y-pipe place where the cat used to be that splits into two pipes or two completely seperate pipes running from each header...let me know if you think i should do something else...i'm looking for the one that'll give me the most power gain...i've always thought it would be 2 seperate pipes
Redfox340
If you can find the space from the header to under the car, I'd do the double pipes (with a x-pipe to equalize pressure / sound) from the headers back. But you may run into trouble with routing out of the engine bay and over the suspension in the rear. I would head to a local muffler speed shop to see what they can do for you. It may be just easier with a single with the stock y-pipe split at the rear. - Erik
The Burning Rom
You're gonna have some problems routing to seaperate pipes for the exhaust...both in the engine bay, and back by the gas tank. You're also going to have to put a muffler in there somewhere. These cars are LOUD AS HELL without something. Trust me..my muffler broke off once on my LE...almost went deaf driving it home. Robby1870
Doing two separate straight pipes is basically impossible. Where the driver's side pipe would route would be right where the fuel lines leave the gas tank and fuel filter. I dont think you want the heat from exhaust right by those, and there just isnt enough room. Check out my WWW tab to see what I did with my exhaust, if you want some ideas Robby

It sounds good too. It has a good deep sound at idle and good note around 2K and good drone on the highway. My rockers made it louder and deeper. You can hear it much past 3K, but it does help low end torque and high end HP Robby

Robby1870
i was gonna cut my cat out, but i keep hearing downsides, any advice? High-Flo cat. What downsides do hear besides emissions Robby
Baddflash
The only problem with removing cat is the exhaust smell/emissions. I had a high quality free flow muffler installed in place of cat and 2.5" run to back split infront of rear-suspension with a pair of flow-tech bottles at back. It sounds great at all rpms but sounds mean as hell down low. The high end power has greatly improved and its much more fluid through the rev-range. Modding the airbox or installing COI is almost a must as it adds a lot too.

dbtk2
Dual straight pipes is not a good idea on a little V6 like that. You would lose so much backpressure that you would loose power. We have a single 2.5" exhaust on the GTP and it is plenty big. Any larger and we would loose low end torque. (Not that we need all 450lb.ft., but we would lose some)
