stockgp Posted September 22, 2007 Report Posted September 22, 2007 if i plug the brake hose hole, would it be safe to remove the rust form my calipers via electrolytic rust removal? i already did the brackets this way, and i'd like the calipers to match. Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted September 22, 2007 Report Posted September 22, 2007 You mean like surface rust? Just take a wire wheel to it. I dont know how that will react with the rubber and such Quote
stockgp Posted September 23, 2007 Author Report Posted September 23, 2007 i'm just wondering if the rubber boots around the pistons will keep the water out of the caliper itself. i left the rubber boots in the caliper brackets and they are fine. although, i didn't care because i boiught new ones. Andrew Posted September 23, 2007 Report Posted September 23, 2007 just remove the piston and rubber boots and seals. then no worries. use an air compressor to push the piston out, thru the brake line hole.. Quote
stockgp Posted September 24, 2007 Author Report Posted September 24, 2007 bah, i already did the first one before i thought of that. came out fine, though Quote
