Odd Guage issue

I dunno if anyone has ever had this happen to them before, but the odd time when i start the cutlass, the brake light and check guages light will come on, and the temperature guage will peg out. If i shut the car off, then start it again, its fine. It never fluctuates or does wierd stuff when driving. Only when its started. It just started doing this recently.

Sounds like maybe a bad resistor in the cluster or the sending unit is going bad.
