digitaloutsider
I like running premium fuel on nights when Im out on the prowl for some fun runs down Chicago asphalt. You must like to lose then I really can't tell much of a difference. Higher Grade seems to burn faster No it doesn't. That's the exact point of higher octane fuel. It takes longer for it to combust to combat knock and predetonation.

97loudcut
I run either BP 93 octane or Sunoco 94. Then again I am rounding out compression at 10.2:
Guest GrandPrixlover1
Well if cars that have 87 octane ratings don't do better on premium or super, maybe you could use something like Lucas injector cleaner. It'll help clean your injectors and maybe even give a slight octane boost? I used Lucas in my car( i also use Seafoam) and both products work great. I have to say that i like Seafoam better but I guess alot of mechanics recommend Lucas. I just put in the injector cleaner in the tank and fill her up. Of course next time I put in injector cleaner I'll wait until my tank gets between 1/4 and 1/2 a tank of gas. that way it makes the injector cleaner more concentrated, so we'll see how that works out. 8-) Oh, and I don't use the products that say they will boost gas mileage, waste of money from what I've heard. Chancho
i run midgrade to combat detonation, the killer of engines, 87 down here sucks, and for those who think enthanol is good, think again ethanol decreases gas milage period on all cars, its been studied, it burns worse and is from what ive herd worse for ur engine, Hess uses 10% ethanol in all of their gasoline, so now i never buy gas from them, and their prices are the same go figure
joey b
actually burning ethanol keeps combustion chambers cleaner than straight hydrocarbons and also rids the fuel system of moisture.
alphagtp
I have always used and still using 91. It is the most expensive around here. I have 197k on my car. I dont know if that made a difference or not, but I cant complaint... my 0.02.
Addicted To Boost
i run midgrade to combat detonation, the killer of engines, 87 down here sucks, and for those who think enthanol is good, think again ethanol decreases gas milage period on all cars, its been studied, it burns worse and is from what ive herd worse for ur engine, Hess uses 10% ethanol in all of their gasoline, so now i never buy gas from them, and their prices are the same go figure Partially true. Ethanol in a way burns quicker than gasoline. Ever wonder why the E85 vehicles get HALF the mileage on E85 than they do running just regular gasoline? Much more ethanol is needed to make an explosion in the combusion chamber equivalent to gasoline's explosion in the combustion chamber. I saw a window sticker recently on an E85 truck- with regular gasoline, it should get 24 MPG, and for E85, it should get 14 MPG. Ethanol isn't good for your fuel system. Ethanol is corn alcohol, which is "grittier" than gasoline- it eats away at parts in your fuel system, particularly your fuel injectors. That said, I only run 93 non-oxy, non-ethanol in my TGP and it runs great and gets good mileage.
