my95z34
Ok, I've got a Sony Xplode 1000w amp running my 6x9's *dont hate* and starting about 2 weeks ago it will randomly blow the fuse on the amp. Sometimes it'll last for weeks, other times it'll blow fuse after fuse, as fast as I can put them in, they blow. What would cause this? slick
Faulty ground. Loose wires at the amp crossing each other. Gain too high. Ohm load sending it into protect. The fact that it's a Sony?
my95z34
All the wiring looks great, except the ground is kinda crappy and has been causing problems lately. I just didnt know it could blow the fuse.
slick
Yep, that will definately cause problems. In fact, a ground can really make or break a system. It's probably one of the more important wires in your system.

GtipGary
hmm funny you should make this thread... Im ready to add my amp to the graveyard unless someone can give me some ideas. Phoenix gold 1500 watt monoblock amp. Ive had it in my car for like two to three years. I tuned it when i first got and never touched it since. Recently i blew a sub, when i went to replace it, my brother and i decided to test my ohm load (w/ voltometer) for shits and giggles. I turned my car on and when to test it and my amp went into protect. i turned the amp off and back on and it blew the fuses. Ive tried everything I can think off to resolve the problem but it just chews through the fuses. Any ideas???
