Addicted To Boost
Is the 282 lighter than a 6-speed, or is it the other way around?

GutlessSupreme
no, that is not right. here's a breakdown of the 282 89 Quad HO 282 3.50 2.19 1.38 1.03 0.72 3.61 90 Quad HO 282 3.50 2.19 1.38 1.03 0.81 3.61 91 Quad HO 282 3.77 2.19 1.38 1.03 0.81 3.61 92-94 Quad HO 282 3.50 2.05 1.38 1.03 0.72 3.94 91-93 W41 3.50 2.05 1.38 1.03 0.81 3.94 J/L V6 282 3.50 2.05 1.38 0.94 0.72 3.61 W V6 282 3.77 2.19 1.38 1.03 0.81 3.61 Source: One of our very own!! I had to shift out of 1st at like 10 mph in the STE. I know this topic is extremely old, but I don't like leaving misinformation around. All V6 Getrags came with 3.50/2.05/1.38/0.94/.72/3.61. I can confirm this with at least W-body V6 Getrags for sure, because I counted the teeth myself. Other than that I can't say for sure, because I did not personally take any of the other transmissions apart. But from everything that I have read that seems to be substantiated in some way, only the Sunbird 2.0 Turbos got the 2.19 second gear, and only the export U-Vans got the 3.77 first gear. Has anyone taken apart a W-body Quad4 Getrag? Amazing how Wikipedia gets me sidetracked in the middle of studying...

GutlessSupreme
Do you want to? or, alternatively, shift it into 1st and out the input vs output shaft rotations (carefully) lol.
