WC-Frogger
Hello ... For some time now I have noticed that when I drive in the rain car misses and stumbles.... like No fuel and or spark issue ( seems like a rev limit is turned on ??? ) after rain stops and road somewhat dry the issue fades away.... ( No code was or has set ) on all dry days Normal codes at all ever ! . I do have a Tech1a and a master tech ( bidirectional tool ) no freeze frame or codes recorded and for some reason the rain is so unpredictable here and don't wish to leave my scan tool in car while I work. 3100 V6 vin# 1g3wh12m45d345939 I did try the water hose to ecm at engine compartment was unable to replicate the issue ' note 'at no time did a code pop up while the issue roared its head also to give a more detail when issue come up in the rain while you throttle it up 25- 30 slowly will pick up speed but give it too much tps goes to back fire and shaking and slows down to a crawl.. I'm not a parts replace and deal with facts and good scan tool inputs.... I find no out of limits inputs / outputs to warrant ecm replacement ? I got this car from a owner with a repair Bills in 2 mo 800.00 ... all GM parts coils , module , fuel pump , tps. sad but parts have already been thrown on with no good checks and issue still there . I paid 500.00 for the car and shes a bute! I do have a rag top also and have just seen this site , I'm a noob and I have read some replies to you new bee's BE KIND ! LOL with you remarks ! yes I will send pic's ! and Thanks to your ADMIN on letting me Join ! Chris
White93z34
i would spray the coils and icm directly with water, as well as try to get the plugs themselves wet, you could have a cracked ceramic on a plug.

WC-Frogger
The plugs were checked and 3 set were installed .... water test has failed several times to no aval but rest assure if it rains hard and you hit a puttle you wont get there fast..... the mostlikly parts I have and would of thought has been checked ..... given the humidity here in Florida I was leaning to the internal parts of the ecm But I must surcome to go get the ECM and swap out the e prom
WC-Frogger
Sorry for the incorrect VIN and thanks for your reply !
ManicMechanic
I'm not sure if 1995s had swappable e-proms...I think you have to replace the entire unit...The 1994-95s were a little odd in that manner being OBD 1.5.
WC-Frogger
Ill go get a ecm with same part # and replay to the issue again if don't fix it understand I'm not a parts replacer i would of liked to see data or glitches in the live data stream
Crazy K
WELCOME!!!! I caught that VIN glitch is my first 5 seconds of looking at the first post. Thanks for the VIN info for our records! please look at the door and get the month/year of build!!! The 1994-1995 3.4 PCM uses a prom chip still, but it is still an obd 1.5 car. I think you should inspect the PCM case for rust or holes first. (btw, I do have a spare set of this ecm and a few chips) Here is what you should do. open the hood, and spray each part with a hand held water bottle, find out what part doesn't like getting wet! every part!
