GrandPrix34
who would of thought that a misfiring DOHC wit flowmasters could sound so sweet! today at a sonic drive in's a group of guys came over to my car and asked me that question...the answer? faulty wires. today i checked the spark plugs to see if they looked good or not and on pulling spark wire #3 (the middle front one) the fucking clip stayed on the plug! the clip from the wire came outta the wire and stayed stuck on the plug. So as luck would have it, there are NO WIRES down here in any place, Autozone, O'Rellies, Pep Boys, etc. So it looks like i will be getting the Magnecor KV85 comp wires. Till they arrive and also my paycheck, i am gonna have to be driving a 5 cylinder Pree around. I opened the boot and reattached the clip to the wire but im afraid it came loose cuz i feel the car misfiring. Aside of that, my A/F meter keeps reading WAY LEAN like the very first bar of the meter. Is there any damage i can create cuz of this? phantomFE3
i dont think so, maybe a little backfiring alot and some excess smoke when you get the plug working again, mainly cause of the gas thats going into the cylinder that isnt getting burned, if you rev it up and let it come back down does it backfire? i know, my car doesnt idle very well when its not warmed up, that with the thrushers make it sound like its got a small v8 in it, the thrushers have a nice rumbling sound at idle anyway. i dont know what kind of exhaust is on the vette but its brand new and has good rumble going down the road at a certain RPM

GrandPrix34
nope! none and the mechanics aroudn town have gone from "hey wasup buddy let me help you out" to "hey, we only have one for 5 buxs!! " well not all of them, some dont have some at all but i've notice that on high RPM's the car will not shudder or sound like as (i.e. im on the highway and overdrive is on, so i shift down to D *wit no square around it*, im guessing 3rd gear and the car acts and drives better HURRAY! the plugs come in 2morrow at 1pm, but wit my luck they probably tell me the Shipment truck was overtaken by 3 honda's and all the stuff insid3e was stolen :x

Bolt_Crank
run it with no sparkplug in the hole at all, and it'll sound like a lawnmower well, it's true, I found it out when I was changing my plugs... since I don't have compressed air, we just turned it over for a bit, and it being warm outside... caught after 1/4 turn of the starter o.O anyway, it ran pretty smooth.... for the 0.5 - 1 second it was on... dbtk2
If I take the vacuum line off the throttle body in the GTP it will idle really really rough and sound like it has a really big cam in it until it revs to about 2000, but it doesn't seem to have a loss of power, so if I want it to sound cool I can just take that off, but I can't imagine what it would sound like with that off once it does have a big cam. But the hose fell off the throttle body 1 day, and we could not figure out what happened. (That is how I know what it does) We almost brought it to the dealer until we decided to look under the hood and double check that everything was connected and noticed the vacuum hose was just lying in front of the throttle body, when we connected it the engine smoothed right out and ran like normal. Its amazing what one vacuum line can do.
