bigdman
sssooooo I got a set of gp 5 spokes today. and I've read on here they were 25 mm offset. but on the back of this wheel it says in the casting enkei / 16 x 6.5 off 52. I'm pretty sure this means 52 mm offset right? cause they hit the calipers on my cutlass in front and rear. the rear needs to come out atleast an inch. and the front atleast a 1/2 - 1 inch. the 5 spokes are polished alluminum. I got them cheap and they said at the j/y they were on a grand prix. my question is, did the grand prix's come with a 52 mm offset? I've seen other cutlass's with theses wheels. mine must be different I guess
slick
97+ wheels need spacers to clear the front calipers.
bigdman
thanks. they are 97 wheels. I'm getting spacers all around. 1-1/4 inch. bolt on hubs with separate lugs. I think the kind phsycomatt uses on his cutty vert. that should give me 1/2 inch extra width all day
Euro
97+ wheels need spacers to clear the front calipers. Right'o. Don't the front calipers need to be grinded down as well? Or is it one or the other.
bigdman
I started to grind a little off the bracket for the caliper. but after the spacers I'm using are mounted I won't need to grind anymore I can't wait tho. I stripped the clear off of the wheels with aircraft stripper. they were scratched and peeling and some corrosion under the clear coat. but I polished them with mothers. they look new now. slick
You can grind down on the caliper brackets to fit, will not cause a single problem. But.... probably the most proper way would be to use spacers.

pwmin
Should of tracked down a 96 than yep the 97+'s are also more convex while the 96's are more concave. 97's dont have the pontiac engraved in them, which is nice and the 96's are 7" wide.
