xtremerevolution
I don't have a garage, or the time, or the tools, or the knowledge to do a full L67 swap. That being said, I need to know who I could go to in the Chicago area who could do that kind of a swap for me. Does anyone know a shop around here? Does anyone of you work at a shop who could do it? The quote I've gotten from the guy off L67swap.com (Brian Teel) is $3500 for the whole swap including the engine and tranny (used, junkyard pull). Does anyone know roughly how much this would cost me? I'd also be trading in a rebuilt 4T60E transmission with less than 10,000 miles. My current L27 won't be worth much cause it has 155,000 miles on it, but whoever does the swap can have that too. Any suggestions/offers/info would be appreciated. Q-Ball
Brian Teel is the guy who I plan to go with. He has a good number under his belt and you can almost be guarenteed for it to work.
xtremerevolution
Would it be a better idea to get an L67 swap done, or to get an L36 swap and later order the ZZP Supercharger kit or some good Turbo kit? Is there much of a price difference between the engines used? This is assuming that I could find a 4T65E-HD for the L36.
Andrew
i would get the L67 for three reasons. 1 - more initial horsepower. you can always add the turbo kit to an l67. 2 - the L67 has lower compression, and its safer to run higher boost on lower compression engines. 3 - you wont have to worry about the l36's lame plastic intake and its issues. xtremerevolution
One other question I'd like to ask. Can I carry over my current A/C system from the L27 to the L67? My mom paid about $1100 to have it repaired at the dealer when the compressor went bad, and I wouldn't do the swap unless I knew that money wouldn't go to waste. They are different engines from what you have from 95. But I dont know 100%.
