Adjusting TV Cable...

I am wanting to adjust the TV(Throttle Valve) Cable but I can't seem to find where the hell the adjuster thingy is!?

Also, will anything have to be removed in order for me to REACH it, or is easy to get your arms/hands in there to work?

THANKS!:)

Oh, and it's a 89 Cutlass w/440-t4

It should be real easy to adjust. There's a square button on it. Push in this button and the TV cable will spring back to its default position. Now get in the car (with the engine off) and just floor the accelerator. The TV cable will make a noise as it adjusts.

I don't remember having to remove anything. It's a flat square button on the side of the TV cable assembly close to the throttle body.

The adjuster is located behind the throttle body wedged down there someplace.

You can't get to it with your hands (at least I can't) so I push the release with a screwdriver and simultaneously push the cable back towards the cable mounting bracket.

I've found that adjusting the cable by the book (releasing the cable and then opening the throttle) doesn't quite put the shift points where I like them. The transmission seems not to want to downshift out of OD at highway speeds. I had to go back and adjust the cable maunally click by click after numerous road tests.

So is there just one setting or something for the TV Cable or is there multiple setting levels etc...? I'm confused on this...

Also, how the heck does a TV Cable ever get OUT of position or why does it never need to be re-adjusted...?

THANKS AGAIN!:)

TV Cable could presumably stretch out of shape.

I had no trouble using just my bare hands, but then this was on the TGP that might be different.

It has infinite settings, but since you are supposed to floor the pedal to set it, it is actually supposed to have only 1 correct setting.

i know how to do this, its very easy, ive done this many times to my TV. look under the car, it should look something like this:

look for the one that says TV and click it till you need what you want, (should only take 1 click) you can also fine-tune the TV with the 'volume' and 'channel' buttons, those are the main things you need to look for :D
