J Posted August 14, 2007 Report Posted August 14, 2007 We got back from the bar last night and the car has been sort of stumbling wen yu take off from a stop, but nothing else...That is until last night, i backed it up into a spot and it wont idle in reverse, i have to hit the gas to make it go in reverse and when i let off the gas it stops like i hit the brakes. What the fuck is going on? BTW we need to get home and it's about 700 miles! HELP if anyone has a good reply call me! i only get to be on the internet until 1pm today............ Quote
SigEpCutlass Posted August 14, 2007 Report Posted August 14, 2007 Jay do you care to tell us where you're stuck at? Maybe someone is near by? I'm assuming the GP has 3.8 N/A and not the L67 option? Did you get any shitty gas? How much mileage on the GP? I'm wondering if you have a clogged fuel filter causing the car to stall, because the 90* are pretty damn reliable. Quote
SigEpCutlass Posted August 14, 2007 Report Posted August 14, 2007 Other thoughts via Haynes manual...(lucky you it was in my bag @ work today ) Bad alt Bad plugs or wires Bad coil packs Insufficient fuel reaching injectors (maybe from a clogged fuel filter?) Vacum leak possibly @ intake manifold or TB Hopefully that'll narrow things down for you. Quote
J Posted August 14, 2007 Author Report Posted August 14, 2007 I'm near Raliegh, NC. I'm thinking it's a fuel filter as well, but i have no way to change it and my buddy is going to be in a interview @3pm so maybe we'll go get it changed before that if we can find a shop to do so. I have no tools whatsoever.......... Quote
Pontiac6KSTEAWD Posted August 15, 2007 Report Posted August 15, 2007 I know you probly hate to do it, but you can go to Jiffy lube, and the will change a fuel filter for 60 bucks... And befor you say it, I hate jiffy lube to, but sometimes when your stuck, your stuck... Quote
rockfangd Posted August 15, 2007 Report Posted August 15, 2007 you can probably do it yourself if it is quick disconnect on both sides. can anyone confirm this? Quote
mfewtrail Posted August 15, 2007 Report Posted August 15, 2007 you can probably do it yourself if it is quick disconnect on both sides. can anyone confirm this? Only one side has a quick disconnect, unless they changed that specifically in 2004. Quote
rockfangd Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 i kinda figured and the other side is a pita flare nut Quote
