ok a second ago i was cleanin my car and checkin the engine bay to make sure everything was good and all that jazz, anywyas a second ago i noticed there was coolant running down slowly on my belt. idk where its leaking from but thats def not a good thing when its not leaking near the reservoir or radiatior. if anyone has any ideas let me know. before someone asks if its coolant for sure, yes it is, its green and smells like coolant, def not oil or anyhting like that. i'm wondering if it is leaking from the head gasket or somehtin similar to that.

1990 lumina 3.1 liter, its leaking onto the belt around where the start is, it could be the water pump, i just hope not cuz it looks like a pain in the ass to deal with.

havent done a WP on a 3.1 but it was pretty easy on the 2.8 GP SE i did. just try to look closer. shouldnt be too hard to find since its dripping a lot.

well, try to see if you can make sure its not leaking from the lower intake manifold. if not, its probably the wp. are you having any problems that might indicate a leaking head gasket?

nope, only probs ive been havin lately was the problem i reported awhile back about the coils and icm, which i still need to replace. i'm tired of dealin with it, i think i will just take it to my local mechanic saturday and tell him to check it over and fix problems he finds. i just dont got the time to do it myself lately. only bad thing is its gonna cost me a arm and a leg to get it diagnosed and fixed.

The same thing happened on my 3100. More than likely your problem will be corrected by changing the water pump.

theres a bleeder hole on the bottom of the pump.

thats right!

I changed mine not to long ago, it was really easy, took about an hour.
