jugo
I have 3.4 03 impala last thursday it started missing took it to a shop and they told me number 2 fuel injector is bad. brought the car home replaced the fuel injector car still is missing. When I brought it to the shop it had a flashing check engine light now since the repair it has a solid check engine light. I also replaced the pcv valve and all six plugs. took to another shop and they clean the injectors and all injectors are working properly. They stated they think the cam has a flat spot on it. I dont think so the car actually runs better but still has a slight miss now. wondering on anyones thoughts ?
GP1138
So did the shops do any real diagnostic work? Check for spark and all that? It's quite possible that the ICM/coilpacks is failing. Pick up a coilpack from the junkyard or new and replace one of the three with it. If it still misses, try the next one, and then the last if that still doesn't fix the problem. If it doesn't fix it at all, return the thing.
slick
Any decent shop should have a data logger for an OBD II system. That ALONE would give any competant mechanic enough info to diagnose the problem.
