White93z34
...and that what i said no less then 4 days before my 4t60e went from perfect shifts to lacking all forward gears within 60 miles, so we did the only logical thing. get rid of it! poor lumina we can make you better. Strange side note, the lumina finally lost its transmission at the same intersection that I wrecked the car at years before and some getrag goodness! getting ready! Interior all gutted and ready for the firewall plate, and new pedals down and out! Shaun splitting the engine and trans. "this looks important" one angry pile of 4t60e and 2 ATF covered guys. all naked! reassembly starts here! good time to replace my blasted cradle bushings. and some poly swaybar bushings are a nice touch. ready to go back in. and FIN! reassembled interior. Notables: the clutch MC is not THAT bad to bleed out, if you have the right tools. once the slave cyl gets messed up, it is done.GM lists at $370, i got mine for significantly less, but still expensive either way. the service manual states that you have to replace the clutch grommet every time you remove the pedal from the clutch MC, they are not joking! it is only about $6 anyhow. the upshift light, all you have to do is install the lamp in the cluster and it works automatically. here is a list of all the parts i used in this swap: Getrag 284 Manual Transmission Shifter Assembly Shifter assembly console bracket Shifter assembly hardware (including mounting clips) Shift Cable Select cable Shifter cables grommet (orange) Shifter cables Interior grommet Firewall plate pedal assembly Steering column with clutch safety switch and key lock button (optional) Front Engine mount bracket Rear engine/transmission mount bracket rear engine mount (semi-optional) engine mount bracket that ties the front and rear brackets together Transmission mount, drivers side Shift Cables mounting clamp Flywheel Clutch assembly (new clutch, pressure plate, TO bearing preferred) Intermediate shaft bracket Clutch master cyl Clutch Actuator/Slave Cyl assy. Engine wiring harness Computer Passenger side axle vent tube misc. 44mm hole saw (1 3/4 inch) 2 quarts GM syncromesh My initial thoughts on driving it? I love it so far, the trans shifts nicely, I like how the clutch feels. there seems to be alot more power, I haven't had the chance to get on it yet, as it has been raining all day, hopefully tomorrow it will clear up. ABS makes it a little more difficult to pull the engine from the top, it can be done but might as well change the crade bushing while doing everything else. Chris, wanna try a RWD swap this winter, im game if you are.

I just pulled my 2.8/auto out the top, but I do not have ABS. If I had ABS the Booster I would think would have HAD to been removed or it would have been a MUCH MUCH tighter squeeze...especially with the 3.4 being bigger than the 2.8. With the 3.1 you'll be fine to go out the top with no ABS.
