synistershadows
pretty much would it be possible to do?
Andrew
i believe someone put an M90 on theirs. however it was so tall the hood had to have a wide scoop that looked very gay. centrifugal supercharger and alot of ingenuity would be the way to go IMO. chadz34
i have seen that one before and i really like it now the question is would it fit Someone on mymonte.com supercharged the 96' model LQ1 in his Monte Carlo Z34.
mfewtrail
It's not a question of "would it fit," it's how you would make it fit. There's not a whole lot of extra real estate in the LQ1 engine bay. There are several ways to go about this....Search the board, "digitaloutsider" should have a post here about a supercharged 3.4...I remember discussing it with him anyways. The idea we had was to run a M90 off of a Ford Thunderbird SC(super coupe) and remotely mount it. Placing the supercharger in the area where the airbox now resides and running an extension shaft(custom lengths available) from the snout of the sc to the accessory belt in order to drive it. There are a lot of things to consider such as sc mounting, tuning the setup, placement of other items, getting proper tension on the belt for the supercharger(eliminating as much belt slippage as possible), pulley size to run, etc, etc. ^^Regarding the idea above, search via google or on a Grand Am board for the few supercharger kits that were made for those cars. You'll get a good idea of what I mean by remotely mounting a sc from them.
Stevo
MEH! but GA's come with 3400 setups and not the top heavy ohc? LMAO!!! RSM Supercharger Kit - $4,400.00 Supercharger kit includes a Vortech Supercharger, all brackets, oil lines, belt, pulleys, adjustable blow-off valve, FMU, induction piping and a K&N cone filter. Custom PCM programming is an additional cost (see below). Gains of over 80 HP and 75 ft/lbs of torque with just 8 PSI of boost with no other modification. http://www.pfyc.com/pc/GA3017/GAUNDER/RSM+Supercharger+Kit.html
mfewtrail
Not the RSM kit, the limited kits that used Eaton superchargers(M62's IIRC). Plenty of room for an M90 IMO...of course some modification to the engine bay would be necessary.
