BXX
Just finished it earlier... The intake was actually a intake kit for a 01 Mitsu Eclipse 2.4L I bought off someone I worked with a month ago... Paid $20 for it.. Took me about a hour to get it in and had to buy only one 3inch coupler from AutoZone where I work... Now for some piccys There are camera phone pics, but pics nonetheless.. I had the battery out for clearity... Has to be a group size 75, the group size 78 won't fit... I rotated the MAF so the electonic part of it is pointed more downwards after I took the pic because I was worried it might hit the hood.. And of course, the washer resovoir had to go bye-bye... .But I wanna get a smaller canister type from Summit sometime in the future... I will prolly get a larger airfilter in the future, but this is brand new and came with it... [attachment deleted by admin] Removed to free up storage space. bigdman
wow. it looks like it was meant to fit there. looks perfect. did you have to modify it to fit.
BXX
Yeah, I had to cut a few sections of the pipe off... It was too long and had another 90 degree bend at the throttlebody... So a few cuts here, drill a hole there, buy a couple anywhere... And shazam!!! FWI!!! Not I just have to make something to hold it steady where it goes into the fenderwell so it doesn't rattle.... That and I really want to relocate the MAF... Im afraid some of the engine heat may get to it...
SigEpCutlass
Not too shabby!
BXX
Thanks.. Prolly next week I will be relocating the MAF... It's not reading correct under 3000rpm and as a result, my KR is through the roof... I don't know why... I will go into further detail once I run live diag again... rockfangd
that is exactly what i have to do with my 94 cutty because mine sucks heat well lol
BXX
hmm does your battery fit ? It's a group size 75, and not the larger stock size 78, so it fits pretty tight... Damn, I just realized I have to buy more couplers when I relocate the MAF... I'm gonna put it as close to the filter as possible... I think the reason for the issue like rockangd says, is it's getting too hot, and since it's a hot wire sensor, that is posing an issue.. PCGUY112887
I am suprised it fits that close... I thing this if the first FWI i've seen that kept the battery there too... Too bad my 78 size battery is brand new!

Too bad my 78 size battery is brand new! Actually while looking at it some more, I can do some minor cutting with tin-snips and get the group size 78 to fit just fine... Seeming I have a brand new $100 group size sitting in my garage, I just might make it fit
GPX
That is amazing! Haven't we all wished K&N made something like this? I was messing around in my battery area this spring and I know how little clearance there is in there with the resevoir and the auxillary post. Good work. I'll be interested to see it when all the bugs are worked out.
BXX
Well the resovoir is a no go... I haven't found a way to put it in... I will look into that and see what I can do since I have to get it put back in since my GF is gonna be taking over payments on my Cutty... Yup, I will prolly no longer own it
