ihateallmustangs Posted July 30, 2007 Report Posted July 30, 2007 I have a clunk in my front end on the driver side. It has brand new ball joint and tie rod. It usually happens then I make a U turn and when I put the car into gear you can hear a slight pop. Also on take off you can hear a clunk/popping sound. Any ideas? Quote
MonteCarloChick Posted July 30, 2007 Report Posted July 30, 2007 I fucking hate strut mounts. I have to take my car in this week to get them replaced. Stupidest thing to change on a car ever. Quote

Euro Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 Hmm...my Lumina had the clunking sound when turning as well, it was the balljoints. However, the strut mounts went bad on it as well. But the rears went bad on my Lumina so not sure if the strut mounts would clunk when turning. Quote
GP1138 Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 Oh but they are. Ohhh!! Waitaminnit... you have the rear coils. Quote

MOOG, AC Delco or dont bother IMO. Quote
ihateallmustangs Posted July 31, 2007 Author Report Posted July 31, 2007 Brand new ball joint maybe 5k on it. New front struts but I reused the mounts. Axle and CV has no leaks or rips. Quote
MonteCarloChick Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 Do the mounts. My car is at the shop now. Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 It could either be the mounts or the strut retaining nut came loose. Quote
GP1138 Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 Front end? Could be engine cradle bolts/bushings too. Quote
