19Cutlass94 Posted July 30, 2007 Report Posted July 30, 2007 Ive tried searching/looking through this topic, didnt see anything unless I missed it. Well the rear bumper on the Cutlass is pretty much done. Its faded/oxidized really bad. Ive thought about re-painting it, but its more than I wanna spend right now. Its mainly the top of the bumper, and the rear face. Is there anything you guys would recommend that might be able to help this out short of repainting it? Thanks --Jay Quote

1990lumina Posted July 30, 2007 Report Posted July 30, 2007 Look into a product called "X-KOTE" Quote
1990lumina Posted July 30, 2007 Report Posted July 30, 2007 http://www.x-kote.com/about.htm I dunno if you can purchase it and apply it yourself or not though..it seems unclear on their website. There is one or two shops in town here that offer this particular process, and the results I've seen locally are amazing! Quote

I used it for my headlight and tail light lenses. I completely misunerstood something. Usually, when I hear oxidized/faded plastic, I instantly think of yellowed headlight lenses. Quote
1990lumina Posted August 4, 2007 Report Posted August 4, 2007 He's saying his rear bumper cover is oxidized..I wouldn't recommend that Meg's stuff on any painted surface...I don't know if it's because it's gritty or has a chemical in it that'll damage the clear coat. Quote
