bogart219
Hey Guys, 94 GP se, 3.1 . Kids car. Go to drive the car the other day. Notice the speedometer is not working. The car won't come out of first or second gear, (not sure which). The low coolant light on the dash comes on then goes off, (mostly stays on). No SES light. Anti-freeze and oil levels are ok. Tranny fluid apears to be ok. I plan this weekend on working on it. I will try to pull any codes at this time. Do these symptoms indicate to anyone a particular part that might be bad? Where should I start checking and or troubleshooting first? Hopefully its not the internals of the tranny. Thank you for any help!!
Regal_GS_1989
Bad speed sensor. The shift points are elecronically controlled, therefore if the speed is reading 0, then the trans wont know when to shift. IIRC, the speed sensor you should be looking for is the one located on the differnetial housing on the passenger side. I guess it could also be a bad connection to the speed sensor that is causing it.
