phantomFE3
ladies and gentlemen, what you are about to read may sound a bit ricey, but it is just a cheap attempt to get more power out of my cutlass, you do not have to support this idea, nor do you have to comment on it if you think its a bad idea, personally i think this is a cheap way to gain horsepower, so bear with me. operation LBSCP#1 (Leaf Blown Super Charger Prototype Number 1) im gonna move the battery to the trunk, put a stripped down leaf blower in its place, concoct a tube system to get the air to the TB and set up some type of filter , have an on/off switch in the cockpit, and set up some type of voltimiter, the leaf blower costs 38.99 USD, im gonna try to keep this operation under 100 dollars, i already have the filter that should fit, if not ill have to buy another one, and that might make this a little more pricey, the biggest issues are getting the battery to the trunk (fairy easy, im told) and getting the leaf blower to fit under the hood, i am taking this idea from a different post about a small fan that ricers use that sells for like 350 bucks, this leaf blower will blow ALOT more air, and have alot more run time, plus its ALOT cheaper!! they says 10 horsepower gain with theirs and 15% torque, and if i keep this under 100 bucks, thats the same price as an FFP underdrive pulley, and hey! ill probably get more HP than the UD pulley!!! first i need to get the battery to the trunk, any suggestions?! 91GranSport
But you're not actually forcing air under pressure into the intake manifold and such so you won't really see any gains. At least that's what I'm thinkign. I don't want to ruin your shit, go ahead and do it and if it works then you're the king. If not, then at least you tried. I'm definitely interested in seeing what happens though. Let us know how it turns out.
supreme_style21
Yeah I think there was an arguement on clubgp about this, if I remember right. Sounded like a ploy to trick ricers into giving out their money.
phantomFE3
ha, thats very easy, they buy those fiberglass wings for like 500 bucks!!! and ground affects kits cost like 700!!!! gees, what a bunch of tards! (just for the record, my car has both a small spoiler and a ground effects kit, but they came with the car, i didnt pay any extra for them!!1) id say 350 bucks isnt bad on a ricer's wallet, if it gives you an extra 10 hp, then it MUST be good! and 15% more torque! wow, that'll put you up to what.. 78ft/lbs??? holy shit, youll win m4d r4c3s w|t d4T k|nD4 p4rF0rm4nc3

phantomFE3
ya lol i did some research and the most powerful leaf blower that toro makes only puts out about half of what the ricer blowers do oh well, it was fun to think about while it lasted
Brian P
Man this is too much. But hell it ain't my car so do what you want. Where are the filters going? On the side grilles of the blower?
phantomFE3
ive officially tossed operation LBSCP#1 into the garbage, im saving up for an FFP underdrive pulley, are they worth the money?
Brian P
Don't ask me, only harmonic dampeners will be attached to my crankshaft, and my alternator and AC need all the spinning they can get

Lee
I think the best horsepower display gain is to record a TGP cycling up its turbo then play it back through an underhood speaker set as you sit at a light. With practice and getting to know the tape...you can time the engine revs to the spool up. Wel...it might work as well as the leaf blower

lukee1982
Wouldn't a leafblower actually be a strain on the system due to drawing so much power. and aren't they 110v instead of a 12v system i could be wrong on this
