when i drive i drive with my left hand on the steering wheel n my right hand on the shifter i kinda lean on it n someone told me i shouldnt do that they said that is what makes the transmission slipp when u lean on it like that

ok well whoever told u that isnt too bright. i bet that person who told u this leans on theirs, but they lean on it so damn hard (tryin to drive like a ricer) that it just bareley nudges into neutral, then they are like "oh shit" panic for a sec and change their sitting positin and it nudges back into D

Yeah, that's partly correct because when you're in Overdrive [if that's where you put the stick when driving] and putting some pressure behind it, the next gear selection is Neutral.

EDIT: Damn Rob, you beat me to it... Nice one!! :D

its more for manual trans cars, putting pressure against the shifter moving the gears around a little could be causing them to wear against themselves, the case, or a linkage.

my g/f mother told me that but ya i drive like that i but i hardly put pressure on it if nethin im pushin it down towards the gornw not shiftin down or up

so it doesnt matter???

No, sounds like you've got either a fluid problem or some minor internal failure starting.

i dont got ne problem at all my transmission is fine she just told me that

Whoever told you that is a fucking idiot. Your tranny won't slip unless there's something mechanically wrong with it.

you weren't sure if that was true or not, yet you were talking about doing the L67 swap. Um...doesn't compute
