super_fro_daddy
I'm thinkin its a fuel issue as it only below 2000 rpm and the harder you get on the gas, the sputtering goes away. I went to the parts store (Advance Auto was the only one open) and they had 2 different fuel filters. One was for the Multiport Fuel Injection the other didn't give any type of injection. The car is a 95 GP SE. The manifold says SFI (as does VIN decoding). Is that the same as Multiport?? just with a different name??? Thanks. Yes, SFI is basically multiport most of the time, it's only SFI some of the time.
Robby1870
Yeah, it's SFI up until 3000rpms then it reverts to MPFI. Is the car hard to start when it's warm? Also, how is cold idle compared to warm idle? Is the problem worse when it's warm?

No its not hard to start cold or hot The idle doesn't change a whole lot from cold to warm about 1000rpm
super_fro_daddy
Sorry I couldn't give more info this morning my ride was waiting. I checked the front 3 plugs were only .01 stretched so I don't think its that (I am changing them anyways because its so cheap) A little further elaboration on the sputtering/hesitation. When I take off it sputters a bit, and then even when I give it NO MORE throttle the RPMS will jump up a few hundred and the sputtering goes away. The car has not been driven since March so maybe the gas is bad?? Any thoughts?? In short I am changing ONE thing at a time. 1. Fuel Filter 2. Spark Plugs 3. Seafoam the bastard!! I will report back here shortly.
Pontiac6KSTEAWD
To me it sounds like either a spark plug wire boot is bad, or one of the crowns on the spark plugs, or one of the crowns on the coils. But it is kinda hard to diagnose over the net..
super_fro_daddy
PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!! It was a combo of the plugs and fuel filter. Put fuel filter on and it got a little better.
