fleetwoodguy79
Ok, so now I have a parts list, and I can't seem to find anything anywhere! So here it goes: - 180 Thermostat: Even tried Autozone, they can't even order one. - High Flow Water Pump: Keep this thing as cool as possible! - Forged 93mm pistons: Anyone have any luck with a certain company? - Copper Head Gaskets: I know someone once mentioned that if you send them in a cutout, they can make some? I can't think of anymore at the moment, but I will be needing to order stuff sometime here soon because I got the heads off today :-). I will be hopefully posting pics soon of my project, so keep your eyes pealed! And if any of you who are intrested have any advise, or info, you can IM me at: fleetwoodguy79 on AOL or fleetwoodguy79@hotmail.com on MSN. Thanks again! brian89gp
1. Hypertech 1020, Summit carries them 2. Don't think they exist but if the rest of your cooling system is working properly you shouldn't have a problem.

Robby1870
Advance offered a 180 for my 3.1L, dont know about DOHC though. For the pistons, just try some companies out there, do a search on google or something. Robby

Robby, doesn't the DOHC have the same size pistons as 3.1L pushrods? If so, I may know how to find them "through the backdoor". Let me know, this could seriously help out. - Erik
brian89gp
Nope, the 3.1 has a 89mm bore and the 3.4 has a 92mm. That and the 3.1 pistons are dished while the DOHC pistons are flat-top with valve reliefs.
Robby1870
Nope, the 3.1 has a 89mm bore and the 3.4 has a 92mm. That and the 3.1 pistons are dished while the DOHC pistons are flat-top with valve reliefs. Yeah they are definitely different. Higher compression, 4 valve/cylinder. Oh, Erik, whats the back door you are talking about?? Robby
Redfox340
Oh, Erik, whats the back door you are talking about?? In my line of work, you'd be amazed on how many people are very narrow-minded. If you know for a fact that specs are right (not in that case however) always cross-reference. That's how I've been able to snag some many parts for my (s)old Cutlass from other frames / vehicles. It's a wierd way of thinking... I know, but it works for me. I'm an engineer; comes with the major. - Erik
