19Cutlass94 Posted July 16, 2007 Report Posted July 16, 2007 not bad at all! but more importantly... hows it work?!?! Quote
charged 3.1 Posted July 16, 2007 Author Report Posted July 16, 2007 Thanks. It works very well. I'm going to make another one for the other side as well. I will be powder coating a few things here soon and those will be one of them. I will post up more pics when i get them done. Quote
shyguy164 Posted July 16, 2007 Report Posted July 16, 2007 Why not just buy a new one? http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductList.aspx?parttype=29&ptset=A&searchfor=Mount%2c+Torque+Strut+(Dog+Bone) Quote
charged 3.1 Posted July 16, 2007 Author Report Posted July 16, 2007 Cause a friend had some steel laying around and i thought i would put it to use. Plus this one won't wear out like the other ones. Quote
Andrew Posted July 16, 2007 Report Posted July 16, 2007 heck yeah i bet thats stronger!! is there a bushing in there at all? Quote
charged 3.1 Posted July 16, 2007 Author Report Posted July 16, 2007 Nope. LOL just a few washers to stop it from moving side to side. Quote
digitaloutsider Posted July 16, 2007 Report Posted July 16, 2007 Yeah.... there's a reason why there's rubber/polyurethane in those usually.. Quote
Grand Moff Joseph Posted July 16, 2007 Report Posted July 16, 2007 Yeah.... there's a reason why there's rubber/polyurethane in those usually.. That car must rattle your teeth out wthout bushings in there... Quote
charged 3.1 Posted July 16, 2007 Author Report Posted July 16, 2007 I can feel it alot more. I was thinking of cuting out the center for a polyurethane insert. Quote
glassvial Posted July 16, 2007 Report Posted July 16, 2007 How about a torque strut for the gen2's (95+) to keep the damn motor held forward? Why they took that OUT of the torque strut mount (when my 94 had it) is beyond me. Getting to the back of the motor is a PITA. Quote
Euro Posted July 16, 2007 Report Posted July 16, 2007 yeah I'd recommend a poly insert at least. I can't imagine how bad that is lol Quote
rockfangd Posted July 16, 2007 Report Posted July 16, 2007 yeah the engine has to be able to move a little, if there is no bushings it can do damage because there is nothing to soften the movement Quote
z34Phoenix Posted July 21, 2007 Report Posted July 21, 2007 remember there is still the lower engiene mounts that allow movement. a solid upper is not that bad. not the most comfortable for daily driving, but its ok. i used two AL plates that i drilled holes in to make a solid upper mount on my car. it wasnt too bad Quote

You can buy a Lisle(or other) engine tilting tool for ~$25-30 online....or make your own for a few $'s. Quote
