Help! CG8
Brian P
That fault may come up when one "set" of injectors has a short, or resistance out of range. So you may have an injector stuck open or shorted out. I'll try to look more into it on mitchell data, if someone doesn't help you before then. timestalker45
if its the 3.1mfi then yes i'd say it would be an injector failer just from what u described if its the 3100sfi then i dont know... aslo the fault is second in the scan, the first part of the fuel system is on the pum its self the second deals with engine componets (injectors, and fuel pressure) i cant remeber if the pressure is also checked at the pump but from what my mechanic told me a while back then it depends on year and style
MonteCarloChick
It's a 3100.

chevygirl8
Good stuff, thanks. One more thing. When it quit, it quit. Would not start only sputter. After an hour it ran great (for a few minutes). I've had 1 injector go bad, and it still ran. Now I can't get the "serv eng soon" to come on and it runs pretty good. I don't want to get stranded again so I want to fix the problem. If I got some bad gas (water, dirt) could that be it?
slick
It's possible that it would perform the symptoms. if its the 3.1mfi then yes i'd say it would be an injector failer just from what u described if its the 3100sfi then i dont know... Why wouldn't you know. They run essentially the same. In fact, the 3100 sfi is only sfi for a very short time. It mainly runs in mpfi. timestalker45
a) ok the sfi has a few adisional parts that are all electrical relaited if say somthing in the program doesnt fire right then it could be that not the fuel system its self but it would through that code do to an injector not working propperly b)the check engine light turning on originaly is a sign of a fault not bad gas so no its not the gas its the injector or some other internal problem (computer) unless the cleaner u used finaly unjamened the injector. c)all i can say is to use gas from same gas brand dont keep going to snoco the mobile then getti or what ever stay with one gas brand second use more injector cleaner, + look for any like stutters in the tac c if when u idle if it pulses usualy means u have a bad injector
