Starter replacement on a 91 cutty sup SL sedan

Ok, so my starter has been giving me problems, mostly spinning freely, now and then catching and starting. I got a new starter and slid under the car thinking that this is going to be an easy swap, when I look at all the lines and whatnot in the way. The cradle is right under the starter and there are a/c lines between it and the radiator.

So, how do I get it out? Can I take off the oil filter and slide it out that way, or is this one of those things where the engine has to be lifted so I can even get to the bolts?

If anyone has some handy tips, I'd appreciate them. Thanks.

remove oil filter for clearance. pull the starter that direction and it should drop right out.

tip: disconnect battery to avoid a shocking experience!

Ok, thanks, I was hoping that would do it. And yes, I tried taking a starter off of a 78 trans am without disconnecting the battery first. It was quite an experience.
