Daggar
Under acceleration the car wants to stumble. You put your foot down and it seems the fuel delivery is erattic at best. How does one test the fuel pump to see if this is the cause?
19Cutlass94
On your fuel rail check your fuel pressure. Also, you should hear the pump prime when your turn your key or ignition on
ns87
Change the fuel filter too, but that sounds like both times my pump died

Also what do I use to test the pressure with? You'e going to need a fuel pressure gauge to test the pressure. Install the gauge on the fuel rail(there's a shrader valve there for this purpose), and then turn the key to prime the pump. The fuel pressure specification for these cars is "40-47psi" after letting the pump prime. Keep an eye on the gauge for a while and make sure it holds steady. Also, you can test the pressure with it running, it should be about 5-10psi lower than the first reading you took. When you install & remove the gauge from the rail, wrap a shop rag around the end of it to keep the fuel that's going to leak out from getting everywhere. Most of the national part chains should rent out fuel pressure gauges if you don't want to buy one.
