First off, is this thing even needed?! I took it out when I lowered my car and I kinda dont feel like putting it back in to be honest  but what does it even do? like whats its purpose? I looked in my manual and it only said how to remove/install it.

Thanks

I am wondering the same thing.

ALL of My W's have (or are supposed to have) the dampening springs, except my 95s... I think.

they are a PITA for doing a 94+ brake upgrade in the rear, and the 93 down cars have a different angle on the upper bracket that blocks the newer caliper type. the upper bracket on my 94 was revised and clears the newer type brake. THey are missing on my 93 vert which allowed a simple upgrade for it, but my 91 I had to physically cut into to them with a cut-off wheel to provide caliper clearance!!!

I don't think they're needed. I've removed them from a few W's. I think the rear ends on them hit bumps a tad harder without them in place, but I couldn't tell for sure.

I removed them from my old Regal. I didn't notice a difference at all.....

I took mine off and didnt notice a difference either. I just cant figure out why they are even on there?! haha

I noticed a huge difference, I put them back on and handling was improved. This was after i installed the birchmount spring.

did you put in a rear sway bar? I dont even know if it will fit with the addco bar...

Ill have to take a look at it then, but I dont even think its worth putting back in...?

Well I put it back in and it clears that addco bar. So maybe there might be a little difference... who knows...
