1997 LQ1 injectors in a 1992 LQ1.

I have not disassembled the car yet as I'm driving it 7 days a week now...lots of O.T. So I thought I'd throw out a question. The 1997 INJ only have one slot for the retainer clip as caompared to the 2 in my current injectors and it looks like it will not allow the injector to seat properly into the manifold. The 1997 style has the slot towards teh bottom of the upper section and the current injectors hace 2 slots and I have to utilize the top one. Will i need to get a different fuel rail? Or should I get another different set of INJ's? These look like they'd be a nice improvement over what I have so I'd like to use them if I can. Any advice will help!

Thanks!

It sounds like you are talking about two different brands of injectors.

I was told that GM has used several brands of injectors but I have only worked with the Rochestor and Bosch brands. The Rochester and Bosch injectors are interchangeable but there are differences between the two.

Well, it appears that I currently have the Bosch style in the car and a set of Rochesters waiting to go in and I'm assuming that they will not work with my current rail?

Pretty easy fix. Just add the slot. Yea a hacksaw will work. Done this to several sets. Don't have to slot all around, Just each side where the retainer is going to point.

thats what id try. if you mess them up, i can refund like half your money or something....we can work it out. unless mine go bad, ill have no need for any more. planning on doing an obd2 swap and adding L67 injectors later down the road.
