Brian P Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 http://www.wbodystore.com/grandprix/w-body-store-25-downpipe-p-181.html Waiting for a response from them but in the meantime, anyone try it? Quote
Robby1870 Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 Didn't even know that existed but it looks decent at least from the pic. Price isn't that bad either. What did you ask them? Quote
Andrew Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 that is a good price, but it doesnt have the cat, so i assume you'll be buying the 02 sim as well ? Quote
Brian P Posted June 29, 2007 Author Report Posted June 29, 2007 I was just gonna chop it and have it welded to my magnaflow cat. I asked them if they're SURE it'll fit a 3100/3400. I also don't know if the location of the flexjoint will get in the way of the sway bar. Quote
Andrew Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 on my 3" downpipe, the flex joint is even lower and its not a problem. if they designed it right, and it looks like they did, it will perfectly replace your stock DP. Quote
slick Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 I've only heard good things about them on the Bonneville website. Quote
Euro Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 I was thinking of getting one once I get money Quote
Brian P Posted June 29, 2007 Author Report Posted June 29, 2007 The other thing I asked them (thought I mentioned it earlier) the distance between the 2 mounting studs is different on a 3800 vs the 3400/3100. It's about 3/8" distance variation. So either they don't know this (it looks identical until you test fit it) or they elongated the holes. I hope it's the latter, because it does look good and the price is decent. Quote
slick Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 I bet they just slotted the holes, making it more universal. Doing this would allow for expansion as well. Quote
Brian P Posted June 29, 2007 Author Report Posted June 29, 2007 Brian, that page is actually wrong. Nonetheless, we do offer a catted pipe for the 3100/3400 vehicles. The price on this pipe is $179.99. I had a feeling...Oh well. My local shop can make me one for about $80! Less if I supply the flange and flex. Quote
slick Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 Holy crap! $180 for a downpipe with cat?!!?!! Quote
Brian P Posted June 29, 2007 Author Report Posted June 29, 2007 Holy crap! $180 for a downpipe with cat?!!?!! Doesn't seem like too bad of a price but I gotta see it first. I don't NEED a cat as far as I know. Quote
slick Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 Just kinda seems expensive to me. But, then again, downpipes generally sell for the $100 range, high flow cats are about $60, so another $20 to have it fitted and welded up. I guess that isn't too bad now that I think about it. Quote
Brian P Posted June 29, 2007 Author Report Posted June 29, 2007 Yeah thats what I was thinking. If I get pics and it looks like it'll work, maybe I'll pick it up. My cat has about 35k on it but I was also running rich for a good portion of that Quote
slick Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 Ooo... thats never good for a cat! Give it some milk, it will like you better! Quote
slick Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 Hah! But on a serious note, I wonder how much longer your current cat will last. Quote
Brian P Posted June 29, 2007 Author Report Posted June 29, 2007 it passed NYSI running rich this past February! So honestly I don't know. I tuned the pcm so there's no more issues at the moment. Quote
Euro Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 $180 isn't that bad. When I priced out a ZZP catted 2.5" DP, it was just over $200 Quote
