stockgp Posted June 25, 2007 Report Share Posted June 25, 2007 i think iposted this elsewhere, but i can't find it. sorry, mods, for making another. do any of you gents that have done a 5 speed conversion have a cad (or somthing similar) drawing of your turbo bracket? i'll need one in the coming weeks, and i don't do metal fab. so, i'll need measurements to give someone so they can fab one for me. thanks in advance for any help. He's right, I watched TGPvsTIII, a guy on TGPforums.com do mine and you have to do it on the vehicle. If I recall, you mount both supporting brackets on both transmission and crossover, then keep cutting down a firm peice of metal till you get the size you need, then super glue in place, let it sit for a day, pull off carefully, then weld in place. stockgp Posted July 2, 2007 Author Report Share Posted July 2, 2007 it finally came out. i was using a "pickle fork." i was just trying to do it with the rotor still on. once i took it off the knuckle and rotor, and went at it from the front it came right off. skalor Posted July 2, 2007 Report Share Posted July 2, 2007 Just take a big hammer and pound on the spindle where the ball joint goes into it. A couple good hits is usually all it needs to get them apart. Also, it's best to turn the wheel all the way for a good angle to hit it.
