LuminaPower92 Posted June 21, 2007 Report Posted June 21, 2007 What's Up fellow W-bodiers... My 92 Euro Started acting up this past Sunday. When driving it down the road crusing, i had the cruise on and it started acting funny, like hitting the gas quick then off then on again and so forth. So I took it off and drove normally however it drives ok, but it wont got from 3rd into 4th , it will occassionally but sometimes wont stay long in 4th. It will go back into 3rd and cruise there until it decides to try again to go into 4th. So Sunday I stopped off at Advance Auto Parts and picked up some tranny seafoam and poured it in, to flush it and what not. I drove it Sunday A couple and parked it. Today I drove it in and changed the filter and gasket, put new fluid in it. I plan on doing it again in about 1-2k after letting this fluid run through a bit. It still does the mentioned above. Anybody think that the vacuum is to blame or cruise and tranny problems are related? Thanks for the help in advance. Quote
ns87 Posted June 21, 2007 Report Posted June 21, 2007 The rubber elbow on my Transmision Vacuum Modulator was broken. It had a hard time getting into overdrive (and came out of it) and a horrible 1-2 upshift/downshift. Just take off your airbox and look down at that thing sticking off the trans. See if the rubber elbow is cracked. That helped me Quote
Hairdo12 Posted June 21, 2007 Report Posted June 21, 2007 You sure its the 3-4 shift and not the TC not locking up? Quote
chadz34 Posted June 21, 2007 Report Posted June 21, 2007 Just about everyone is having tranny issues this time of year, I was contemplating selling my 96' Lumina, but I have almost enough to fix it. These cars especially 3.1's are totally worthj replacing the trans, if that is the problem. Quote
