I can't believe the amount of time I went without needing a repair. I have a feeling this car is no longer worth what it is costing me to repair it.

So my problems start out of the blue, my car is CHUGGING. Like an Indian on a 40oz'er she is going hard. I put the car into neutral to see if that changes anything, less vibration at the wheel, and when I come to a complete stop sometimes it goes away. So I check the oil, its really low.. very strange... Never had any oil related problems before, although I have a feeling that my car is leaking oil at the oil pan. As that's where I had a heater installed for the cold months. Anyways, I pop the hood and start the car. Oh my god the engine seems to be shaking in it's spot. Not only is she shaking in her spot, it sounds like it's a bloody V8.

So can I assume I need to start replacing all my motor mounts? I do not have any desire for performance mounts, unless they are about equal value and aren't going to make my ride 100x rougher. I prefer to have a nice relaxing ride. It is a car made for grandpa afterall! :)

Watch it in it's original size, it's just looks way better

Any advice is much appreciated.

By the way I don't have much time to fix it now as I leave the country for 2 months in < 1 week.

Well, you can easily check the bushings in the dogbone mounts to check the condition of them. If they are shot, then you know where to go.

The lower mount, Anchor brand is decent. The fluid filled one is more prone to breaking, but will give you a grandpa like comfy ride. The solid one will wear very slowly, but may have a bit more vibration from the engine. IIRC, they cost about the same.

I'd say you've got more than just a motor mount problem there, it almost sounds like it's missing on a couple cylinders. Perhaps oil is leaking onto the coilpacks and it caused one to fail? Or you simply might need a tuneup?

When the motor mount blew in my 3100, I didn't notice any extra vibrations at all. I doubt a broken lower mount will cause your motor to shake as you described, and wont alter the sound of the engine. I replaced my mount anyways with a solid one because it was a quarter of the price. You can barely notice an increase in vibration. I wouldn't put in a fluid mount anyways, since its a PITA to replace again.
