gmrulz4u Posted June 26, 2003 Report Posted June 26, 2003 I found out tonight that for whatever reason, my MAP Sensor "maxes out" at only 60% throttle!? Here's just SOME of what I know about the MAP Sensor: 1) It determines engine "load" when the engine is running, and Barometric Pressure/BARO(for elevation compensation) when the engine is "off". 2) The highest the MAP voltage will, or at least SHOULD, ever go is to that of the BARO reading, which in my case(where I live) is usually about 4.75 volts. 3) At WOT, the MAP should be VERY near that of the TPS. 4) At idle, the MAP should read about 1/3 that of the BARO(with no load). So, when my TPS is telling the ECM that I'm only at 60% throttle opening, why the hell is my MAP Sensor telling my ECM that I'm under FULL LOAD? I'm assuming it's a vacuum leak somewhere, causing the vacuum to DROP too rapidly, mis-informing the ECM, and therefore causing my very over-due RICH condition... Anyone with anything to add here?? THANKS A M!LL!ON:) Quote

I dont know my sensors that good, but you're right, why would it be saying that you are at WOT when you are at 60%, therefore making you run rich. I would assume a vacuum leak would cause that Robby Quote
Baddflash Posted June 26, 2003 Report Posted June 26, 2003 I agree, a vacuum leak or possibly defective MAP. :? Quote
